Self-Talk to Sales Success

Do you listen to your self-talk? What is your self-talk saying? How is your self-talk serving you? If your self-talk is more negative, and sounds like a snakes rattle, it will scare you off from moving forward. This is poisonous thinking for people who are in the business of selling.

Most of us have reoccurring thought patterns which we repeat over and over again. Research shows that these repetitive thoughts create a neural pathway in our brain. If you have heard the term limiting beliefs, then you know it is negative self-talk over time that does this to your brain. The good news is that you can change the pathway.

Having a positive outlook and self-talk is a must have for people who sell. Yet, how is this possible if you are in a slump, just lost a customer or find yourself reluctant to even follow-up? How do you move away from the snakes rattle?

Negative self-talk affects your emotions, which in turn affects your actions, and in the end can limit your sales performance.

Listen to yourself. Have you ever said something like I dont have what it takes, I didnt deserve that sale anyway, or Why cant I succeed? The first part to change that neural pathway and shake off the snakes rattle is to recognize what you are saying to yourself, in particular what you say repeatedly.

Change your focus. Have an opposite and positive affirmation to replace the negative. Replace the thought I dont have what it takes, with Im learning what works. Instead of saying I didnt deserve that sale, rephrase it to I can learn from that experience. The key is to say something to yourself that moves you in a more positive direction.

Challenge your thinking. You might want to ask yourself, Is this thought beneficial to me now? What is underlying this negativity? How is it helping me? Or is it? You want to be easy with yourself yet challenge the relevancy and benefit of such thinking.

James Lane Allen (1849 1925), an American novelist, is credited with saying, You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you. You could reframe Allens quotation with Your sales results today, are where your thoughts today have brought you. Your sales results will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you. Where do you want your sales results to be?

Put It Into Action:

- What one thought, one self-talk phrase, can you identify right now which you believe is the most negative one for you?

- What one thing can you plan do to when you next hear this negative self-talk? (Hint: Decide on an action that moves you to the total opposite thought.)

- Once you have a more positive thought in place of this working in your self-talk, what will that mean for you? Stay focused on this benefit for you.

Make Money With Popular Cartoon Coloring Pages

Once upon a time, when I was a child, the of the first forms of art that kids discovered were coloring books and crayons. These days it seems that these tools for kids are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that computers will ever replace the temptation kids have for drawing on walls and on our expensive books, but the computer is becoming part of children's lives at a very early age.

"If you can't beat them join them" the saying goes and so as technology encroaches into our lives, we need to embrace it rather than fight it.

One of the great advantages about online coloring books is that obviously, first you don't need to spend any money doing it. There is a lot of artwork out there in cyberspace for free. Secondly, if you don't like it, you can just download it again and start from scratch rather than have to throw the book out.

Nothing will ever replace a real book - I hope. There is something about a book that the computer cannot replace, but the computer allows us to do graphic design and testing without destroying the original artworks and once the testing is finished the artwork can begin in production.

Also this type of use of the computer allows the kids to become familiar with the computer without having to conquer the fear of learning it. They learn what they need during fun times rather than classroom style.

there are lots of social sites that allow kids to mingle with other kids of the same age swapping of ideas and artworks and this is also a great learning tool for kids and some adults).

One of my hobbies is public domain content. There is an incredible world of graphics out there in public domain waiting to be found and used. Hundreds if not millions of cartoons are around for kids to color and can even be sold or made as a collection.

I have a website for my 8 month old son selling Aesop's Fables as a book. these were all public domain images and are absolutely beautiful. I got them all for free. It took about 10 hours to put them all together and all of the sales go towards his school fees. My goal with this as he grows is to help him have his own online business before he even finishes his school and he can generate enough money online to pay all his school fees.

What a saving!

The world of public domain and cartoon coloring makes this all possible and I am only doing it part time for him.

The world of cartoons is huge, public domain is huge, the internet is huge and the earning capability of all of that is huge!

How Comfortable Are You Talking About Religion? - Religion and Spiritual Communication

How do we overcome our difficulties talking about religion with other people? This would also include people that we talk to about religion and agree with us. If someone tends to agrees with us most of the time, this could create difficulties in a different way. Their constant agreement could tell us a couple of things about them, either they don't know enough about the topic you're discussing, have no interest in it or they don't want to upset you and will tend to agree with you often if not always.

The biggest problem, dealing with the difficulties in talking about religion would involve two people who disagree on one or many topics. These topics could range from very important (life changing and factual) to common beliefs. When someone ask you a question like, "Do You Believe in God?", this could lead to an argument with the wrong person.

You can be honest, but always have an exit response if things get a little out of hand. Whenever someone chooses to become animated or mad at me, because of something I said, that they don't believe in, I can simply choose to remove myself from their presence. I would like to point out to my readers, rarely do I ever choose to remove myself from any heated discussion but often encourage or egg them on.

If you don't feel comfortable asking questions about religion, but seek answers from others, start with simple unoffensive questions and lead your way into the bigger ones. For example if I wanted to know, why someone believes in Hinduism, but am afraid to directly ask them... have someone else asked them. Okay maybe that's the easy way out, but you could always start with a question related to their childhood like," How Old Were You When You Started Going to Church?"

They might reply with, we don't go to church, we go to Temple or Mandir. This often breaks the ice that could lead to the end of the conversation, quickly. If you did a little research before you spoke with them, you could always replace church with the word temple but not Mandir. This might give them the impression, you already know about their religion, let them explain their religion to you.

If this is handled in a nonthreatening way, it could lead to a friendship of greater trust and now you can ask the bigger questions. Asking the big questions sometimes, even in a friendly environment this could become frustrating if your intentions are other than just gathering information. Don't try to convert anyone to follow your religion or spiritual practices. This could end the relationship quickly and cause bad feelings.

Treat people like you would like to be treated and if you treat people poorly, disregard the last statement and treat people with kindness and compassion.

What Is Rune Magic?

Magic Rune Symbols

I have been trying to share with you the importance of bringing the Runes and the gods/goddesses of the North into the 21st Century.

No longer should we run around in the woods with our axes and swords, drinking mead (unless we want to for FUN), asking the gods/goddesses to help us. If we had the power to invoke Odin, Thor or TYR into our blot or our rituals. What would we do with them?

We can't sic them on the outside world.

What we need to do is attract the Wisdom of Odin, the Strength of Thor and the Courage of Tyr...

INTO OUR OWN LIVES.... INTO OUR OWN AURAS....

Then we will be 21st Century Odin's, Thor's and Tyr's.

It is the age of doing it ourselves.

Runes and Odin and the gods/goddesses of the North belong in the 21st Century, in the Age of Aquarius, the Age of the Internet and Quantum Physics.

No longer can we pray to them to do it for us. We must ask them how to do it and give us the energies to do it with.

It is erroneous to keep the Runes shackled to the Viking Age.

All the literature we have about the magic of runes is shadowed in parables, paradoxes and enigmas.

The Laws of Quantum Physics broke through the mystery of the magic of runes symbols.

Runes were never meant for divination.

Runes were never meant to be used as an alphabet.

Runes are Universal Creative Energies. Magical rune symbols are just that. Magical symbols that connect us to the runic energy of the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God).

True Rune Symbols

The 18 Rune Futhork of Guido von List are true rune symbols.

Here are some Rune Symbol definitions that will share with you the reasons why Rune Symbols are powerful and magical.

* A Rune Symbol is a body containing a soul. (outline body of rune containing the soul of the living rune energies.)

* A Rune Symbol is matter holding a meaning. (Rune outline plus meaning of runes.)

* A Rune Symbol is a foci of force. (each rune symbol embodies several runic energies.)

* A Rune Symbol is a condenser of consciousness. (takes a piece of the consciousness of the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) and condenses it into a runic form.)

* A Rune Symbol is a thought tank. (by meditating on the rune you can pull useful runic thoughts out of the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God).

* Magical rune symbols are energy exchanges between very different levels of worlds and the intelligent beings operating through them. (you and the world of the runes.)

It is the runic energy, runic meanings, runic associations and life-force packed into any rune symbol that makes it alive and functional for you. Odin only rediscovered the runes. They go farther back than the Viking Age.

To be a rune master you must constantly nourish your deeper inner being with higher levels of frequencies from the runic energy levels.

Seek the Runes ---- or die!

Let's look at some definitions of Rune Magic.

* Rune Magic is bringing down higher laws into the present time.

* Rune Magic is causing action at a distance without having to use a physical object.

* Rune Magic makes use of the Law of Resonant Frequencies and Life-force.

* Rune Magic allows life-force to flow between similar and congruent bodies.

* Rune Magic is the ability to allow run energies to flow from the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) into your body and life.

* Rune Magic will break the shackles of poverty; release the bondage of disease; end the misery of failure.

To be successful in Rune Magic you need three operating forces.

Runic Energy --- A Rune Symbol

Target --- Your Photo

Life-force --- the power of your mind.

When you sit in your chair and meditate and look at a magical rune symbol, you are creating a:

Living Runic Thought Form

Your mind has provided the power to connect the rune symbol in your hands and the runic energies in the Quantum Ocean and bring them into your body and life.

You have the three ingredients you need to perform rune magic.

Runic energies which are specific frequencies in the Quantum Ocean

This newly created Runic Thought Form will now be part of your energy field.

This Runic Thought Form will cybernetic ally seek out and achieve its goals.

Rune Uruz (Health) example:

If it is Rune Uruzenergy you attracted into your aura, this Runic Thought Form will seek out the cause of the ill health within your body. It will then attract to you the people, places and events you will need to cure yourself.

Whenever you use Rune Magic to help achieve your desires, the universe decides upon the details of how to obtain it.

While this is all going on outside of you, the Rune Uruz energy inside of your aura will dissolve the energy blockages that caused your illness.

You must be open and aware to new ideas, people, thoughts, feelings and places brought to you by the Runic Thought Form.

Rune Magic allows you to develop your spiritual and psychic powers.

With your ability to attract rune energies you can now attract health, wealth and love into your life now.

Remember runes are an energy. They are Universal Creative Energies.

The runes reside in the infinite Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) where time does not exist. There is no past, present nor future. Only the now!

One thousand years ago Odin the All-Father hung for 9 days and nights on the Yggdrasil Tree. He finally reached into the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) and rediscovered the runes for us.

Christianity has constantly tried to wipe out all information on the runes.

Guido von List, a German Rune master, in the twentieth century had a cataract operation. As he lay in his bed blinded he too reached into the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) and once again rediscovered the runes for us. The Arman en Runes.

This website is about Runes and Runic Energies with practical information you can use to attract health, wealth and love into your life now.

Rune Magic uses runes as keys to the Universal Energies of Creation. Runes were used for spiritual purposes long before anyone used then to write.

Rune Magic helps you to get in touch with worlds and energies far beyond your everyday life.

Runes are energies that preceded language.

This page gives you some of the reasons why Rune Magic works.

I have many pages on Rune Meditations, Rune Yoga, Rune Rituals, etc, that will show you have to attract Rune Energies into your life now.

Rune Magic is very powerful and you can use it to attract health, wealth and love now.

Ellis Peterson AKA Ragnar Storyteller (earned Viking name) is 72 and a skald and rune master. He is a retired math professor and electrical engineer. He brings his scientific knowledge of Quantum Physics into his Runic Information Website. He offers a unique approach to Runes and Quantum Physics. He offers free Runic and Quantum Physics essays and artilces plus a free newsletter. Thinking About Thinking - Part 1

How to Think Your Way to Working Smarter.

How much time do you spend just thinking? Take a guess - how much during any given day, week or month? I'm don't mean the kind of thinking you do while driving in your car, commuting on the train, during your morning run, or even in the shower. I'm referring to the kind of thinking you do ensconced in your office, or your den, or perhaps your garden. You are not reading a book or a magazine, nor watching TV, nor listening to music. You are simply thinking.

How much time do you spend doing that? Most of you will answer little to none. Many people consider spending time "just thinking" to be a luxury. After all, you have real problems - customers, employees, investors - all wanting some of your time, all wanting you to do something. And in our action driven society, we need to be doing something - much of the time we seem to be doing two or three things at once. But thinking?

It seems silly to rhetorically ask why this is so important. Thinking is the process by which companies and people create intellectual capital and knowledge. Thinking is the way we actively develop new ideas, rather than reacting to our current circumstances. Thinking is how we invent strategy. Thinking is one of the hardest things there is for people to do, let alone do well. But to figure out how to make the most of your precious resources, to leap ahead of your competition, and to master the ever-accelerating pace of change, you have no choice. You have to think about things.

There seem to be two broad categories of thinking. One category consists of free-form activities like daydreaming and meditating, and I will address these in a later column. The second category includes the disciplined process of asking questions and trying to answer them. This is the practical side of thinking and is the perspective of this article. Does it make sense to write a brief article about thinking? Not a learned, academic treatise on cognitive science - but a short pragmatic missive, practical and prescriptive. I think so. I think clarifying the concept of thinking gives people a way - a process - and perhaps provides greater access to thinking.

When I think about the issue of thinking, what am I really doing? I am asking a question - I actually say to myself - "what is thinking?" I might further ask, "what does my mind do when I try to think?" Or maybe, "How can I think without asking a question?" And so on. I don't get very far with all of this, because no matter how I try to direct my thoughts, I discover that I am always asking a question. Every single time.

This would be hard enough if all there was to it was asking good questions. But for the process to be of real value, I have to consider answering the questions as well. Or at least I have to consider possible answers. So my simple definition of thinking is: asking questions and considering possible answers.

Why don't I just say answering questions rather than considering possible answers? Because generating definitive, single-pointed answers is only one kind of thinking. The second, perhaps more powerful kind of thinking - particularly in the realm of strategy - is known as inquiry. In the process of inquiry, you ask questions and look at possible answers. Your goal is not a definitive answer, for that would bring the inquiry to a close. Rather you peel back the question, like the leaves of an artichoke, revealing more questions, and more possible answers, and so on. At some point, you get to the heart of the matter, just as you get to the heart of the artichoke.

To think about an issue, focus your mind by asking one or more germane questions. Each question should be designed to elicit a response driving your mind in a particular direction. You can ask questions serially, answering each in turn, or stack your questions one on top of another, attempting to answer the whole lot of them at once when the time is right. Sometimes your answers will give birth to more questions. Even your unanswered questions will sometimes yield more questions.

When do you cease asking questions? When you have thought the thing through - when you have developed sufficient ideas that profoundly illuminate your original question.

There are other criteria for stopping your questioning. You might decide to inquire into an issue for a fixed period of time, say thirty minutes, or seven days. Or, you might ask a question with the intent of coming up with fifteen or twenty new and provocative answers. You might decide to keep asking questions until your answers yield no further questions, or until your questions yield no further answers. You might not decide any of these things and simply stop when it feels right - when you feel you have the "right" answer. Or you might not stop at all, instead engaging in the question continually.

Then there is the issue of answers. I've always liked those 8-Ball fortune geegaws which offer the same answers no matter the question. But what distinguishes thinking from mere questioning is developing answers authentically and responsibly. I think it is the commitment to come up with a useful answer, rather than saying "I don't know" or simply trotting out some time-worn old bit you know will fit, but not really add anything.

Many times you have no idea as to what an answer might be. What do you do then? One of my favorite perspectives is, "Well if you did know the answer, what would it be?" Another useful perspective is to simply invent an answer. Make one up and see if it fits. Trust your subconscious. Access all of your stored knowledge and experience - it just might come through for you. I think that is thinking.

What kind of questions should you ask? I have no idea, but it's a good question. Since I am unable to answer it, I have decided instead to offer 16 questions about strategic direction. I think these questions are worth asking. Please substitute we for I, our for my, my company for I and me, as appropriate.

What is my purpose?

What do I want (to be, to do, to have) that I do not already (be, do, have)?

What am I thinking is the real thing, when "the real thing" is simply substituting for something that can really make a difference?

In what ways am I being effective? In what ways am I not being effective?

What isn't getting done that needs to get done?

What doesn't exist in our market, which people want, and we could deliver?

What other ways would people like to get what we give them?

What are we doing that we want to stop doing?

What would make us happy?

What did I forget?

When will we be ready?

How hard are we willing to try to make it easy?

What aren't we taking on because we don't think we know how?

What is the most important thing, right now? What will be the most important thing next month?

Who could help us?

Where are we looking for answers, and where not?

I hope these questions get you thinking.

How Do I Make Money Working From Home? - 7 Easy But Absolutely Essential Steps!

Step #1 Time ... One of the most important things you need to do is have a realistic goal of how much time you are going to work your business from home and think about if it is going to be a part-time hobby or a full-time income for you.

Step #2 Money ... You should expect to invest a certain amount of money, especially for advertising, no matter what type of business you decide to work from home. Almost all of the FREE stuff out there is just pie in the sky, do not waste your valuable time.

Step #3 Awareness ... Once you find a home based business, you should give yourself enough time to learn the ins and outs of your new work at home business. Most of it or all of it may be totally new information and take time for you to digest. Offline it takes approximately 5 years to turn a good profit. Online can be much quicker as in months but it will still take some time.

Step #4 Knowledge ... Never stop learning. The best money spent will be on getting the knowledge you need to run your home based business. Do not be afraid to spend money on learning. One piece of good information can make you money way into the future.

Step #5 Responsibility ... The number one reason people fail in business is lack of responsibility. Successful people do not blame the product, service or a company for failing. Successful people take responsibility for learning how to run their own home based business and simply see the product or service as just a piece of their business.

Step #6 Results ... You need to look at getting things done that matter and that get results. Setting up your home based business is great and needs to be done. Things like building your website is a good step too. But remember, most income generated comes from selling a good product or service and requires promoting that product or service. Only then does your home based business start producing actual results and become a good source of income for you.

Step #7 Focus ... Having found the perfect work at home business you will need to focus on building it. If you are the type of person who is going to continue looking and wasting your valuable time, it will definitely reflect in the money you could be making in building your home based business.

Professional Business Reviews: Bill H Carson

Fear Based Motivation

Make Money Doing Online Surveys

It is now possible, thanks to websites like MakeMoneyTakingSurveys.org to make money doing online surveys from the comfort of you own home. Online surveys can be completed at any time that suits you and the rewards can be quite substantial if you are willing to put in a bit of effort. Doing only 4 surveys a day can net you around $13,000 a year additional income - that's almost a second income for working about 2 -3 hours extra a day!

So, how can you make money doing online surveys?

Market research has long been one of the most important tools of marketing departments, and every year multi-national corporations like Pepsi and McDonalds spend millions of dollars finding out what their customers want and what people think of their products. Before the internet really took off, this type of market research was often done by questionnaires sent out in the mail, or even by market researchers standing in malls and the street asking customers questions. Today, however, the internet enables these companies to reach a much larger sample population - and that's where you can profit. Generally these large companies sub-contract out the actual effort of running the website and collating the results to third party companies who will offer cash incentives to consumers willing to share their experiences and opinions.

Surveys come in many shapes and sizes, some are multiple choice, others ask for detailed opinions and the rates they pay can vary according to how much information is required , and therefore how much time you are expected to spend filling them in. Most of these surveys are made up of online forms that you fill in but there are also other kinds that have recently become popular. For example, you may be invited to take part in an on-line focus group as a way to make money doing online surveys. This has become very popular since most people are familiar with blogging or forums, which is how many of these focus groups operate. They can also be great fun, educational and even help you start up new on-line friendships. Another popular way to make money doing online surveys is to actually try the product out, for example use samples of it for a few weeks and then submit on on-line review, or even doing a bit of mystery shopping and reporting about your experiences.

Ok, but where are these websites that allow me to make money doing online surveys?

Well, as you might imagine, there are almost as many marketing companies as there are big corporations out there and it can be quite a laborious process tracking them all down. So that's where websites like MakeMoneyTakingSurveys.org come in. They have done all the legwork and built up a database of marketing companies who offer money for doing online surveys - all under one roof. You can select surveys that apply to your geographic area - as some are geo-targeted, for example only available to US residents, and you can select your area of interest and expertise. This type of resource can save hours of research and in my opinion is well worth the small one off fee that you pay for a years membership. If you are willing to work hard to make money doing online surveys then the membership fee will pay for itself in a matter of weeks, if not days.

If you would like to know more about how to make money doing online surveys then why not visit my website at http://www.surveys.cbreviews.info/ We are running a 50% off promotion on some products so its never been a better time to get started.

It is said that money produce money, and it is true in the real sense. You can make money from your savings or you can invest some money and earn profits in terms of interest rate after a period of time. If you search the market, there are many investment companies available - all offering lucrative deals for consumers. How to Make Money With Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing. Two words that make on-line marketers either squirm or shout for joy. The first because of their lack of success, the last because they have found the way to unlock success.

It's not a business for the faint of heart or for those that think they can sit back and let money roll in. It takes effort, time and patience. But here are some hints that might help you gain success with your affiliate marketing programs.

1. Diversity. Make Sure you are advertising in many different formats, forums, places and conditions. There is more than one way to advertise your product.

2. Don't be afraid to spend money to make money. There are plenty of free ad sites but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and use the big guns to get the clicks you need on your ad. Going cheap is not always the answer.

3. Do your research. Make sure you are picking products that you have researched well, know that there is a demand for and a good success rate already.

4. Pick products that give you a good return, make sure you understand the economics.

5. Don't be afraid to publish. Articles, blogs, question sites, and anywhere else that you can think of.

Motivational Speech Review

Being Grateful Can Change Your Life

I will never forget being a little girl with a strong dislike for tomato and my mother saying to me 'be grateful that you have food to eat; think of the starving millions". Sound familiar? I, of course, as a child took for granted the attention given to me, the food placed before me, the clothes I wore, the unconditional love my parents always afforded me. It was not until later, through puberty and into adulthood, after being dented by life's hard knocks, did I begin to understand the enormous potential of simply being grateful.

As a young adult, when things didn't go as I had planned, I became resentful. I was supposed to marry my first true love, live a life of luxury and privilege and have 2.3 children. However, the universe had different plans for me. My true love broke my heart. I ended up hating my chosen career path that had taken two and a half years to study. I became bitter, resentful and ultimately depressed for one long, dark year. I managed to pull myself out of depression and continued on to live my life searching and searching for my lost direction and secretly keeping a little seed of resentment for the world in the back of my mind. That's how my life continued for many years, wandering and searching, never really committing to anything or anyone.

One day I was talking on the phone, long distance, to my best friend. We were doing our usual moaning about what we were missing out on if life. So then and there we made a pact. We both wrote a list of goals we wanted to achieve and set a date and instigated a back up plan if we failed. We achieved every single goal on that list within the time frame we had allowed ourselves. This was mind blowing. When we recognised our achievements I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Finally the universe was on my side. Since that breakthrough I have found many different methods of changing and improving my life. I am now very happily married, I run my own business, and I'm living life the way I always imagined I should. Every day I'm grateful that my first true love dumped me or I wouldn't have travelled the path to find my darling husband. Every day I'm grateful that I didn't like my first career choice, even after all that study, or I wouldn't be my own boss today. Even though there are many different methods of personal development that I have used, my favourite, and most serving, is being thankful.

This is life altering stuff and is as simple as saying a few affirmations very day. Retrain your mind to think in the positive rather than the negative. For example...

'I hate my job'........change to.......'I am grateful I can pay my way'.

'I never have enough money'.......to.......'I am grateful for every cent that comes to me'.

'I'm always arguing with my wife/husband......to........'I am grateful for having a loving partner'.

Most of us have heard of affirmations before, but the secret is to add 'gratitude' to the mix and use your imagination to see the affirmation being and feeling true. Now some of these affirmations may not ring true to begin with, but our minds are susceptible to suggestion, especially if repeated over and over again until it becomes ingrained. It becomes true! What we tell ourselves will be. Don't be afraid to tell people of your gratitude. Thank everyone who does the smallest thing for you. Tell your friends how grateful you are for their friendship. Tell your children how grateful you are for having them to enrich your life. This gratitude can change your life forever. It can improve all of your relationships, use it to get that promotion at work, use it on yourself to create self-love and beaming confidence. Watch people and situations soak up your gratitude and give it back to you ten fold.

I challenge you to put Being Grateful to the test. Create a list of five affirmations in the areas of your life you would like to change or improve. Start each affirmation with 'I am grateful.....". Repeat each affirmation five times every morning and night for two weeks. Believe it, see it and feel it. Be grateful for the smallest things. Write in a journal and say to yourself "I am grateful for the bright sunny day", "I am happy and grateful that I am confident in every way" and "I am grateful for my supportive family and friends". Be grateful now and be grateful for what lies ahead.

Let me know your amazing results and share them with others to change and enrich their lives also. Thank you for reading my story, I am grateful for the opportunity to share.

Why I Built Spiritualbooks4u

Demetra Reid is on the Move!

Great leaders look within themselves, before they look beyond themselves. In her quest to make an impact on others, Demetra Reid has become a great leader. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Reid is a Registered Nurse and earned a Master's of Science degree in Health Care Administration. She has operated in this capacity for more than 11 years while serving as the CEO and founding member of the international organization, w.o.m.e.n. EO, Inc. for the last two. She is also a four-time author and penned the dynamic children's book, "Alice's ABC's." The book is so insightful and charming, it was recently recognized as "Parent's Choice" and earned distribution in several U.S. university bookstores.

A forward-thinker by every definition of the word, Reid charismatically operates as an agent for change for her family, organization, and individuals on issues which concern them. Demetra's devastating and spirit-testing experiences earlier in life groomed her for leading and inspiring her organization and readers today. Creatively, she helps them navigate through transitional experiences and identify strategies to connect them to their successes. But, it's her ability to articulate a vision in such a way that ignites enough passion, that others pursue and manifest that vision. It simply leaves people in awe. I had the opportunity to sit down with Demetra Reid. We discussed her values, her organization, her love for empowering others, and of course, her children's book, "Alice's ABC's."

Fran Briggs: Good morning, Demetra. Thank you for making the time to meet with me today.

Demetra Reid: Thank you for having me. It's always a pleasure.

F. B. Tell us about the genesis of your women's organization, and why you think it has been received so well.

D. R. Within the word, w.o.m.e.n ., EO, Inc is an acronym. It stands for We Own Mentor Empower Nurture, EACH OTHER. It has been embraced by so many because - well, look at the name of the group - we do just that! We take people as they are and do not try to change or judge them because there is at least one of us who has been through the same thing. We listen. We relate to. We understand. Sometimes that's all someone needs - a willingness to listen and understand.

F. B. You have a decentralized group with members from three continents - all of whom are very cause-driven, hard-working, and creative. With so many worthy global initiatives today, how do you determine which ones to support?

D. R. Great question, Fran. Yes, we are invited to partner with several causes, groups, and joint business ventures. The focus is to prioritize, rationalize, and maintain our perspective on the vision of w.o.m.e.n., EO. Actually, we have a multitude of priorities including assisting women who have been affected by domestic violence, rape, and incest. Another priority is to reach out to children. There's nothing that lies closer to a woman's heart then her children, right? Well, our organization is concerned with the very things that touch a woman's heart. Self esteem also remains a priority. What do we do to build and maintain self-esteem among women?

Many times, just supplying one tool can alleviate a multitude of other issues. When women feel good about themselves, they recognize what real love is, as opposed to co-dependent emotions. Real love does not hit, harm, or abuse. Correct? I realize I'm asking someone who knows the answers but sadly, so many women today, do not. I want so badly for women to begin learning about self-love at an early age so that they can develop healthy love habits. We provide counseling, consulting, and mentoring - in a cost effective manner. Some of the growth questions we are asking as it pertains to the organization include:

Can we reach masses - span the globe by providing teleconferences?

Can we reach masses - span the globe and impact children and women who may be homeless by investing in care packages to send out?

Can we reach the masses by holding conferences?

My answer is, "yes" - unequivocally - to all of these. It's a viable investment with a huge return. I am looking forward to bringing in experts from the fields of personal and business development, rape crisis, behavior health, planned pregnancy, teen run-aways, and many other disciplines for our conferences. Our state ambassadors sent us the top three issues for women in their respective states. It is from their own perspective, or formal research. Domestic violence, homelessness, job assistance, and business development mentoring were identified as priorities. Other concerns included the need for additional shelters for battered women, run-away youth, and pregnant teens. There are so many needs, all of which span the globe.

F. B. You've been directing w.o.m.e.n. EO, Inc., for a couple years, now. Did it take time to get a feel for the culture of your group?

D. R. Absolutely! We have diligently worked and re-worked the roles and responsibilities of the board, ambassadors and members. It has been a journey because this is truly, a not for profit organization. Everything that we do - teleconferences, planning, meetings, and newsletters - is all on volunteered time. The women who are in our group are extremely dedicated to the cause. They have such a passion about the mission of the group - which, again, is wrapped up in our name: We Own Mentor Empower Nurture, EACH OTHER. They take ownership, mentoring, and empowering personally. We have wonderful women in place for getting to our destination. Although there are many women who are out there and truly want to help, some have come and gone because the 'price' of helping is expensive! Lots of time, lots of commitment, and lots of energy with little recognition is involved, here.

One has to evaluate their motive. It takes a village to reach who we are trying to reach. We all have ideas, and it takes all of us to execute those ideas. I love everyone who has crossed our path. Some have left, and then come back. That's because they have a burning desire to help others that just will not leave. I thank everyone who has met with us; we would not be here today if not for them. I am even grateful for the individuals and organizations who turned us down as far as partnering with us. At least they now know about us and what we are trying to accomplish. The seed has been planted. (laughing) I'm rambling; aren't I?

F. B. (Smiling) No. Not at all... Demetra, few people realize that you personally mentor or consult with more than 100 individuals over a year. When do you make time for you?

D. R. (Laughing) This is my time. With my history of suffering from emotional abuse, physical abuse, depression and a several suicide attempts - I have to reach out.. It's almost like breathing - if I don't, who will? That's how I feel sometimes. For example, when my phone rings, I may say, 'I'm tired, right now.' But then I'm quick to think about how it was with me. If I would have had someone to talk to, maybe I would not have stayed in such an abusive relationship for so long. I also recognize that I am grateful for the one who did reach out to me and taught me that my life was worth living. See, I had that special someone on the other end of a phone one day who made me contract with her to call her if I ever thought of taking my life again. She made me feel like my life mattered. I realize some may think this sounds funny - or even hypocritical coming from a Christian - but I'm human. I was in a bad place, but I do believe the Lord uses people and puts people in place to move us from one place to another. I'd like to think of myself as that medium - that vessel that help others make it from day to day.

F. B. Many women - those who are single, have children, and little income in particular - are vulnerable to a form of discrimination that marginalizes them from the rest of society. What are some of the ways which you show this group that there are better opportunities, and a better life for them?

D. R. I refer them to business-oriented women like yourself. (Smiling) I smile - but I'm serious. These women just need direction, education on the 'how tos' and the right steps that will lead them to their goal. What better way than to let them speak to women who have succeeded in what they see as being, 'just a dream'? We have women in our group who are entrepreneurs, publishers, authors, life coaches, college students, police officers, publicists, IT specialists and from many other professions. Many are single, divorced, but successful women! My job is easy; I just direct and put people together. And, it works.

F. B. How would you like your tenure as president of w.o.m.e.n. EO, Inc. to be remembered?

D. R. A job well done. I would like for people to see that in all things, I tried. That is my life's mission. Serving as president of w.o.m.e.n,EO, Inc. is certainly being true to myself; I want to make a difference.

F. B. Demetra, you are living an amazing life which includes dozens of accounts where you have defied and conquered incredible odds. At what point did you decide to choose writing as one means to illustrate this?

D. R. Great question, Fran. I have often started and stopped journals in the past. I try so hard to maintain one as it helps tremendously with getting things out of my head - especially the things I worry about. It almost seems that once I have these items on paper, I worry less and sleep better. That is how I use my writing, as a tool and means for expression.

F. B. When are you most happy?

D. R. When I am spending time with my daughter who is growing up! She will be 17 this month. I enjoy seeing her become such a wonderful young lady. I enjoy hearing about her hopes, dreams, and deepest fears. It does a Mother's heart good to know what her children are afraid of so that we can help them face those fears at a young age. I also try to build up her self-esteem. Sometimes young ladies that grow up without a Father figure will look for male affirmation in other places. I have prayed and prayed about that. I prayed that she would be well-rounded with having a Mother stand in the role of Mother and Father. That is what makes me happy - being with Kala.

F. B. Demetra, you're also an author having penned a children's book which is being promoted in American universities, as well as three adult inspirational books this year. How has the reception been from the readers?

D. R. It has been overwhelming! I really enjoyed being a contributing author in Volume I and Volume II of How to Jump from a Ferris Wheel and Land on Your feet, and writing my first poetry book, No Reason Or Rhyme ... Just Thoughts Over Time.

Each of these drew from the mentoring and empowerment sides of me. I hoped to reach women who have been - or are currently - in the same situations - depicted in the book. I want to let them know that whatever the situation, 'its okay.' 'Its okay' because when you do feel low - then, what better time to begin feeling better? I also contributed in an e-book titled, Guide to Life Coaching. This book was compiled by Lydia Proschinger and includes contributions from life coaches who share their processes, methods and successes. I was honored to be a part of this project and hope that many will come to recognize the strength and positive enhancement that comes with having a life coach.

F. B. Can we expect to read more books by Demetra Reid in the future?

D. R. Oh, Yes ma'am! The sequel to Alice's ABCs, which is titled, Alice's 123's, is scheduled to be released in next year. The latter is about what happens when Alice goes on an adventure. I'm so sure there are many more to come.

F. B. Many authors have at least one favorite author. Do you have one? If so, who is it, and why?

D. R. I love Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson, and Mary Higgins Clark. I guess the common thread is the mystery side. I like a book that can take you away and these books do that; they make you leave your own life and enter someone else's.

F. B. Was there ever a time when you second-guessed your faith or ability to write a book that people would pick up and actually read? If so, how did you overcome it?

D. R. I second-guess that every time I pick up a pen to write and every time I think of how words should flow. I contemplate on the best way for them to be written. I imagine it's how I think when I speak to people as well - I play and replay my words, sentences, and paragraphs before I speak. I want to make sure my point is clear. You know, words are alive; they are sent out with a purpose whether it be for good or for bad. The Alice series has the objective to teach. The poetry book that I wrote was meant for good and has a goal to make the reader smile. I would love to see both of these make their mark. The only way to ensure that, is to receive feedback so, any and all feedback is welcome. I can not wait to get the other books out!

F. B. I read Alice's ABCs, and I love it. With so many wonderful children's books out there today, what makes yours' definitively distinctive?

D. R. (Smiling) Because it's Alice! Alice is not unlike most children today; she's rambunctious, mischievous, smart, sassy. And, she is looking forward to teaching your children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews their ABC's, 123's. The artwork illustrated by Dena Deffenbaugh is outstanding. Alice does not have a distinctive face and is absent of features - that was intentional. She can be anybody's child. When a child begins to read the book, they easily fit into Alice's shoes. I'm also looking at making an Alice doll so the reader has something to actually hold on to after the book is closed.

F. B. That's exciting and epitomizes your enthusiasm for your projects. What's next for Demetra Reid?

D. R. Oh, I want to expound on my writing and grow the women's group - in Jesus name! And one day, hear from groups and groups of women who are walking and talking in faith, hope, and real love. I guess you might be referring to the baby steps that it will take to get to this point, huh?

F. B. Sure, 'baby steps' works, here. What are they?

D. R. Well, the first 'baby step' will be to start off with a meeting of the state and continental ambassadors. In doing so, we will look for sponsors and partners to assist in our cause. Additionally, w.o.m.e.n., EO is looking forward to hosting a national conference - it's a goal for each and every year - bringing the states and continents together in one space to touch each other spiritually, mentally and physically. It's important that we know that even with our individuality and in our uniqueness, we are all the same. And, I am happy to announce that we have sponsored two orphaned young girls from Rwanda. Our aim is to grow this ministry so that we can continue to assist them with their education and their self-esteem.

F. B. Demetra, it was both an honor and pleasure to interview you. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to accommodate me.

D. R. Again, it has been my pleasure. You have been a joy to speak with, someone of your stature - someone whom I consider a mentor. Continue to be blessed, Fran.

Did The Indians Have It Right

Be Content Even If You're Broke

Are you experiencing financial uncertainty or desperation, a sinking feeling over the Gaza situation, winter holiday blues, or any other personal stresses?

Finding Santosha (contentment) may seem difficult right now.

But here is what I love about the santosha....

Santosha is not translated as elation, bliss, or happiness. It is translated as "contentment". I find it more reasonable, but perhaps not as recognizable to experience santosha.

This is what contentment means, to me:

1. Being OK at this moment...or knowing that at some point in the future you will be OK again

2. Finding perspective

3. Being at ease

The thing about santosha is that you don't always notice it. This is because we tend to be socialized and habituated to exist in more extreme states of being. Sometimes fleeting moments of santosha, or even days and months of santosha are with us, but we do not notice because we are seeking (grasping) something more dramatic.

I offer this suggestion in the midst of troubling times...keep your senses open to noticing moments of contentment and when they come and go; as you become aware of these moments, allow yourself gratitude that a particular moment was OK.

This may not solve the world's problems or even your own, but not everything can or needs to be solved right at this moment. Perhaps however, the more individual and collective moments of contentment we live the more readily problems will resolve.

Another way to reinforce this "noticing of contentment" is as follows:

The next time someone asks you "What's new?"...rather than furiously searching your brain for a dramatically "good" or "bad" event to report.....respond with, "I'm content at this moment".

Make A Live Out Of Your Life

How Can You Look at the World Wide Economy Crisis From a Spiritual Point of View?

Epidemic fear and panic are spread around the globe these days, as a result from the financial world situation. Is this the end of the World? Will the whole economic structure fall apart? What does a Psychic Law Of Attraction Life Coach think?

Nothing so serious has happened in the global economy since the Depression in 1929 when several rich and mighty people committed suicide as their fortunes disappeared.

Looking back in history, such things happen now and then. The financial structure moves forward in wave patterns which have been researched by scientists and are well known by serious traders. It is the breathing pulse in the financial structure.

As a Spiritual Life Coach specialized in the Law Of Attraction, I see today's global financial situation as a mirror of the way majority of people breathe, in their stressful lives. The breathing in the financial system and the breathing within each and every human being on earth is connected to each other in a common breathing pulse. I venture to say, that the global crisis is directly attracted from the collective breathing in humanity today

A stressful person who breathe short and light will eventually have difficulties to breathe out. She will breathe in, in and in, not being able to fully breathe out. This is what happens with more and more people today. And that is also exactly how the financial situation has developed during the past years.

In order to stop this, a crisis is taken place. The underlying meaning is to heal and to re-establish a peaceful breathing pulse within the economy, as well as within each and every human being on earth. The sooner you and everyone else reconnect to a peaceful state of mind, the sooner the global finances will get back to normal again.

If you want to be a part of the global economy healing process, investigate your own breathing and start calm down your own mind by deep and slow breathing. As soon as enough people are doing so, it will have an immediate influence on the global situation and calm down the World Wide Panic, as a result of the powerful Universal Law Of Attraction.

Here is an example of how you can establish a calm and peaceful breathing quick and easy:

Take a deep breath while counting to 4.

Hold your breath while counting to 12.

Breathe out while counting to 8.

Repeat at least ten times, three times daily.

If you are having difficulties doing this, you probably need it the most...

And remember, each and one of us that breathe calm and peaceful will reflect peace and calm back to the global financial breathing pulse.

Thank You! I Love You! All Is Well!

One Word that Can Help With Life Balance!

Somehow in trying to keep a sense of balance in our lives, weve forgotten one of the most important words to use in our conversations. Weve ev21D8en been told that it is inappropriate in business brainstorming meetings to say this word out loud, let alone mutter it under our breath. Plus growing up, we heard it more than we cared to. This simple yet not often used word is... no.

To relearn using this word for balance, our attitude towards the word needs to shift. We often feel obligated to say yes and that mindset needs to change to motivate us in to rephrase rephrasing our responses. Being able to say no respectfully tells the other person that you value other peoples time and priorities as well as your own. People often times expect to hear no. It may be as simple as to find phraseology that isnt as direct. You can still be in good stead and be appreciated with some alternate phrases. When you use these alternative ways to say the word No, it minimizes any negative feeling the word might carry with it, like guilt or regret. Here are the top five ways to replace the direct saying of No:

1) Use your schedule (or other plans) phraseology response The soonest I can do that is either x or y. Which will be best for you?

2) Take extra time to answer the likely thought of, but unasked question, Why? Explain some options before you give say no Because of x and y, we can only do one or the other which do you prefer?

3) Say no with a condition attached - IF anything changes, it may be possible for me to do what you are asking, and I will let you know right away.

4) Start out with a softener like, Thank you for asking, but thats just not possible right now, then move to your schedule phraseology.

5) Be agreeable. Oh I know how important this is to you, then move to the conditional phrase you want to use to tie it to the time that would be better for you. Calmly and assertively, practice these response phrases and then keep repeating them until you see changes happening in your life. The word no actually has its place. When you get a request that competes with your own priorities and values, be brief, be assertive, be respectful and say no.

Book Review - Natural-Born Intuition - How to Awaken and Develop Your Inner Wisdom

Have you ever said, "I'm not psychic, but I can be quite intuitive at times!" I've heard that statement many times. It must be a common sentiment. There is a difference in the connotations of these two terms. People tend to describe intuition as natural, whereas references to psychic often involve supernatural references.

In her book, Natural-Born Intuition: How to Awaken and Develop Your Inner Wisdom, Lauren Thibodeau describes psychic as a process of reaching outside of ourselves, while she describes intuition as a process of going within. Her distinction reminds me of the difference between facts (coming from outside) and wisdom (coming from within).

Sometimes Edgar Cayce distinguished intuition from psychic events and sometimes he spoke of it as a psychic ability, as when he said that intuition is the highest form of psychic ability. In some of his readings, it seemed that he had to add something to his psychic impressions to gain the insight he needed. Cayce could hear the thoughts of someone for whom he was searching, but indicated that it took a bit more to know whether the person was alive or dead. He gave the impression that intuition is a more highly evolved attribute than the psychic senses.

It is common to link intuition with a form of knowing and psychic with the senses. Mediums frequently speak as if they are seeing or hearing spirits, but not always understanding what their psychic senses are telling them. Intuition may be involved in the process of understanding, or interpreting sensations. It can also operate in the absence of sensations, with direct knowing "out of the blue." Brain research shows that the brain interprets sensory data prior to registering it, implying that a lot of "thinking" goes on in the act of "seeing." Intuition may involve both.

Karlis Osis once conducted a fascinating experiment with Ingo Swann (the artist who invented "remote viewing") that demonstrated the difference between "knowing" and "seeing." Dr. Osis created a puzzle for Swann to explore when he was in his psychic, out-of-body state of consciousness. The puzzle consisted of a closed box with objects inside. He arranged these objects so that when viewed through a little peep hole, one would see an optical illusion and not realize the true nature of the objects. If it were a matter of knowing what was in the box, the actual objects would come to mind, and the optical illusion would not be relevant. When Ingo awakened from his out-of-body experience, he described seeing the illusion, but did not report knowing the nature of the objects.

As another example, suppose we wanted to find an inspiring quotation in the Library of Congress about how dinosaurs felt as they realized they were becoming extinct. If we used "remote viewing," a psychic form of data acquisition, we would begin by scanning all the words in all the books to find senten5B4ces that included "dinosaur." From these, we would scan for sentences that contained "extinction," and so on. Such a process would take a long time and leaves some doubt as to how this skill could decide upon the "best" quote. On the other hand, we might randomly walk about the library and accidentally discover a perfect quote simply falling into our hands. Intuitive people speak about such synchronicities all the time. Clearly, the task of finding a suitable quote in a mass of information takes more sophisticated mental skills than simply being able to read the words in a book without opening it. Intuition may include psychic ability plus some other qualities.

There's another way in which Thibodeau's distinction makes a lot of sense. Many people with psychic sensitivities report being disturbed often by their impressions. Being bombarded by undesired information can be overwhelming. On the other hand, people who say they live intuitively seem to be in harmony with themselves. It is this blessing that Dr. Thibodeau hopes the reader will achieve through intuition.

Her techniques for developing intuition are entwined with accessing inner wisdom, almost as if they were the same thing. This conjunction reminds me of Cayce's suggestive remarks indirectly crediting our intuitive nature to our guardian angel. Research confirms a relationship between being intuitive and following the soul's directive. Investigating people's moods at6F0 random moments reveals that when people are in moments of intuitive flow, quite likely they will also report that they are doing what they feel they were meant to be doing at that moment, as if fulfilling part of their purpose in life. Trusting one's intuition can bring a sense of peace, which psychic ability alone can not accomplish. Intuition is psychic, but it's wise enough to keep its own counsel on the way to Heaven.

He is one of the trainers of A.R.E.'s most successful, and long running, psychic training conference, "The Edgar Cayce Legacy: Be Your Own Psychic." He developed A.R.E.'s program of evaluating psychics. He has published scientific articles on his research into intuition and psychic functioning. He is the author of Edgar Cayce on Awakening Your Psychic Powers, Edgar Cayce on Channeling Your Higher Self, and Your Intuitive Heart.

Self Defense Tips - The Top Three Reasons You Need Self Defense Products

The need for Self Defense and self defense products goes back to the very beginning of time. Self Defense is a God given right. The right to bear arms is a sign of a free society.

Today the need to defend yourself, your family and your home is more important than ever before for at least three very important reasons:

CRIME RATES ARE ON THE RISE. There is no question about this. The rate of growth in crime may even stay constant but with a growing population all that means is there are more crimes committed. Gangs, drugs, domestic violence, burglary, robbery, rape, murder, assault, carjackings, home invasion and more-it is not a nice picture. I dare you to watch the evening news and not see at least one or two stories about crime.

SHORTAGE OF GOOD PEOPLE. There is a shortage of qualified or even interested applicants for law enforcement. Many who are interested in the career field are lured away by "Homeland Security" jobs which of5B4ten pay more. Most law enforcement agencies are understaffed. It is hard and dangerous work and let's face it the pay isn't all that great.

BUDGET CUTBACKS. For a variety of reasons local and state law enforcement agencies throughout the country are experiencing cutbacks in funding making it harder for existing to resources to cover all the bases. They are just spread too thin.

For all these reasons and probably a few more, the burden to defend yourself with self defense products has shifted more to the individual. You just cannot count on the police to be everywhere. They do a fabulous job but cannot do it all.

Individuals can help defend themselves with a variety of self defense products like stun guns, pepper sprays, stun batons, personal alarms, and tasers. Classes in basic self defense techniques are readily available in almost every city and of course thru the internet.

I have found the best place to buy self defense products is on the internet. The selection is much bigger than any retail store, the prices competitive and the service unbeatable.

Structural Framing Beams

Let's start with the beams. They can be Glulam, Parallam, Microlam or even wood beams. What are all of these and why do I need them in my house. The beams are used to hold up parts of the house and are located in your walls, roofs and floors. Beams are used to transfer a load from one point to another.

Structural framing beams allow the architect to create large openings, floors and roofs in your house. The beams are also used to support the weight over the doors, windows and other openings in your home. These beams support massive amounts of weight in some cases and are even made of steel if needed.

Another growing problem is the lack of old growth trees in the forest. If we just used wood beams with out using the new engineered beams we would have to cut down a lot more of the bigger trees. So you can add these guys to your Christmas list. The lumber or wood engineers have come up with all sorts of alternatives for new building products. These new beams are just some of them. Keep up the good work guys...

Glulam is a engineered wood product comprised of wood laminations, or 2 x 4s that are bonded together with strong, waterproof adhesives. If you use a Glulam beam on the buildings exterior you will have to order a exterior Glulam beam. In this case the manufacture will use special exterior rated glues for the beam.

When ordering any wood engineered beams specify to the lumber yard what you are using the beam for. Exterior or Interior of the building. If you use a interior glulam over time there is a good chance of the beam delaminating or cracking apart.

Parallam is made from almost all of the wood on the log using veneer strands that are aligned parallel for maximum strength. The end product is a rectangular beam; which is longer, thicker, and stronger than solid-sawn lumber. They are often used as beams, headers, columns, and posts, among others uses.

Microllam is an engineered wood product that uses multiple layers of thin wood assembled with adhesives. It offers several advantages over typical milled lumber: it is stronger, straighter, and more uniform. It is much less likely than conventional lumber to warp, twist, bow, or shrink due to its composite nature. Made in a factory under controlled specifications, Microllam products allow users to reduce the onsite labor. They are typically used for headers, beams, rim board, and edge-forming material.

These beams come in all sorts of different lengths, widths and heights. They are engineered to hold amazing amounts of weight. They really are great engineering marvels.

Tip: I have had to replace almost all of these types of beams over the years due to some form of damage. Like anything else in your home if it is used improperly there is a good chance your are going to have some sort of failure. I have seen people add weight to these structural beams with no thought of them ever failing.

If you are planning on building a room addition, rebuilding your roof, adding a floor or any other type of construction where you are adding a addition load to your house. You might want to consult with a building contractor or structural engineer.

Plumbing Problems and Solutions - Repair Manuals

If you've owned a home for over 20 years, there's a very good chance, that you've had a water pipe break, a drainpipe clogged, a toilet that wouldn't flush right, or a water leak that damaged part of the home. If you don't know, what you're looking for and you have no idea what damage can be done, over time, this could mean trouble for the homeowner.

Plumbing problems like these have been around and will be around for many years. Knowing what to do about them, how to repair them and what materials will be needed, can be found in plumbing repair manuals for books. How would you like to have a professional plumber to advise you on your plumbing repairs. What if I told you that you could have a plumbing professional on hand at all times. Is this something that you might be interested in.

Well I can't guarantee that, so let's forget about what I just said and go to the next best thing. Plumbing repair manuals are full of tips and advice that when needed can sometimes be priceless. If water is leaking from the ceiling in your home and you have no idea, where the water is coming from or how to stop it from leaking, any information could be priceless and I mean priceless.

Plumbers, usually charge over $100 an hour for emergency service. I've seen plumbers come to peoples homes, turn the water off to the house, stop the water from leaking and now it is no longer an emergency. The plumber quickly pulls out an invoice for the plumbing repairs and it could be over $1000, if you decide that this is ridiculous and choose not to pay it, the plumber can hand you a bill for stopping the water leak. Some of these bills are what I would consider quite ridiculous, for just shutting the water off.

You're not paying the plumber for the amount of time it took him, you're paying him for his knowledge. If you knew where to shut the water off, you wouldn't have an emergency situation and could contact a plumber during normal hours. This could save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

With a simple home repair manual or a home plumbing book, you could prepare yourself for a situation like this and other plumbing problems. Most home repair manuals have general solutions and advice and can solve most of the problems around your home. If they can't solve all of the problems, they can probably save you from major catastrophes like a water leak.

Most of the time it's not the water leak that will cost the most money, it's the damage the water will do to your furniture, carpeting, wood flooring, walls or ceilings. A little information and preparation can save you a lot of money in the long run.
